Play On!
Play On is the story of a struggling community theater group that is attempting to put on an original play by a local author who just can't leave it well enough alone. The freshly written play, "Murder Most Foul," tells the tale of a mysterious diamond (or is it a ruby?) that curses anyone who touches it. The play is full of mystery, suspense, romance, and... a whole lot of inconsistency.
The play-within-a-play is penned by Phyllis Montague (Louise Krieger), a self-proclaimed poet who revises the script up until the opening night. Despite the confusion of learning and re-learning complicated scripts, the fearless director Gerry (Sharon Weyers) tries to guide her actors along the best she can. Flubbed lines, missed entrances, and disappearing props stand in the way of the group and their show as they display the dire consequences of believing "the show must go on..."
